West Indies Pacer Shannon Gabriel Retirement: West Indies’ 36-year-old fast bowler Shannon Gabriel has announced his retirement from cricket. He has shared this information through his social media account that he is retiring from international cricket. Gabriel made his international cricket debut for West Indies in 2012. Now after spending 12 years in the service of the country, he has said goodbye to international cricket.
Releasing a statement on retirement, he said, “I have been playing international cricket for West Indies with full determination for the last 12 years. It has been a very enjoyable experience to play this beloved game at a high level, but as they say, all good things come to an end someday. Today I am announcing my retirement from international cricket.”
In his statement, he first thanked God for giving him so many opportunities to represent the country. Apart from this, he also thanked his family, West Indies Cricket Board, support staff and coaches. He also said a few words for his fellow players and thanked them wholeheartedly.

Shannon Gabriel has only retired from international cricket and has himself admitted that he will continue to represent the Trinidad and Tobago team in club and franchise cricket played around the world.
Shannon Gabriel got the most success in Test cricket, where he took full advantage of his height and speed of balls. He has 166 wickets in 59 Test matches played for West Indies. He also took 33 wickets while representing his country in 25 ODIs, but he did not get many opportunities in T20 cricket. Let us tell you that he has 331 wickets in 125 first-class matches.
